May 6, 2004Has any one had a problem with their 4WD after using their keyless entry. If I use the key fob to lock or unlock my doors the 4WD won't work for a day or so but if I don't use the fob the 4WD works fine.

May 6, 2004thats messed up!!!! you might have some bad wiring or somthing, maybe you should go to the dealer for that one!
May 7, 2004Do you have an alarm system?
If so that may be your problem... I know on the GM models the Passwhater II disables the powertrain if it detects being opened by the wrong code or started with the wrong key...worht looking into if you have an alarm. If so it may be your key or your fob having an encryption or battery problem. Or may be a ground loose somewhere (does some wierd things sometimes with alarm systems)... other than that I am out of ideas.

May 7, 2004I've never had that problem. I always use the remote to lock and unlock the doors; the 4WD has never failed to engage afterwards.
May 7, 2004This has really messed with my brain. I have the dodge service manual for my truck and I can't find a link between the two systems. When I push the button on my key fob the lights blink once then a really long pause, like a minute then blink again. But on the second blink they stay on for ten seconds or so. Then when I get in the truck the interior lights will not stay on for more that one second. Once driving the "Service 4WD" light comes on and stays on and the shift on the fly switch does not light up. The intermitent wipers don't work and one time the wipers wouldn't turn off, I had to pull over and turn the truck off then back on again. The hole truck goes in to some kind of a fit.
May 7, 2004ya you have something really wrong with your wiring in you truck i'd take it in if i was you!
May 8, 2004It probably won't help, but it wouldn't hurt either to remove the battery cables for an hour or so to reset the computer. It really sounds like a computer issue to me but that could be caused by a loose ground or other wiring malfunction too. Clean the cables and batter posts too while you're at it.
May 10, 2004I though of the battery thing, but what I tryed was to disconect the cables from the central timer module and that worked. So something tells me that module is buggered. I would like to swap it out to find out if that is the problem but that timer module is $250. I took my truck in to the dealer this morning and even they thought this is strange.
