February 25, 2004We got a new parts manager at our local dealership recently. The other guy had the joint in complete disarray, so they went and found a new guy out of Houston, TX! He is awesome! I met him one day, and on the second day, he ordered everything I need to put an SRT-10 hood on the Scat Pack Ram! I talked to him today, and he said its all been released from the warehouse and is in transit...I hope it gets here in time for Stone Mountain!!! Needless to say, my first impression of the guy is pretty good!

February 25, 2004that is like finding a new best friend.. someone in service that knows what service means, don't tell his boss
February 25, 2004Go to the top of the food chain, that's be best policy. Good move.
I had the pleasure (I really mean it) to meet the 5 Star Director of Service at the Woodstock dealership. I was asking the front desk guy a bunch of questions about whether certain mods would void my warranty or not. Obivously he had no clue. After a few minutes what I was introduced to this Director guy. He was very nice and seemed very willing to be on my side. Final answer though is that the warranty on our vehicles if between us and Chrysler. The dealer can't make that call. However, I gave him a list of the mods I have or plan to do and he said he will review these with the reagional Chrysler rep next week and call me. In his mind they didn't seem to be a problem, but he wanted to double check with Chrysler. He gave me his card and said he would call.
February 25, 2004It's a good feeling to know that service doesn't end with an oil change or a tire rotation. < queue anthem > I come from 13 years of restaurant business and my feelings were that service begins when the guest comes into the parking lot NOT when the beverage napkin hits the table.
And one thing I also preach is that good service should never be taken for granted...it needs to be fostered. If somebody goes out of their way, whether its the cashier at the parts desk or the Service Manager, acknowledge it and pass on a good word to their superior. That person helped you...sure they get paid...sure you expect it since you pay a car note every month, but what is it going to hurt you to put the same efforts in praising as you would put into complaining. I think it's great that DC recognized a need for improvement. Cheers to that dealership..... < cut anthem and drop flag >
I'll step off my soap box...and don't forget to tip your bartenders and waitresses!!
