July 23, 2016I recently purchased a `16 6.7l mega cab, and I was wondering if there is an actual street legal after market exhaust that would still pass Texas inspection. I`m about to purchase a programmer and know that the dpf will get pretty nasty and run a regen cycle quite often. I had a mbrp on my 06` 250 and loved it. But times have changed with stupid emissions!

July 26, 2016There are a couple of aftermarket DPF back exhaust systems. But they will make absolutely no difference in power or sound. All of the 6.7`s sound is muffled by the emissions in the exhaust. Heck, your truck doesn`t even have a muffler! Even the older 6.7`s like mine, only had a small resonator. If you are not going to delete your truck, save your money and just add a nice exhaust tip to your stock exhaust.
July 26, 2016Right I found those. I was just wondering if they have an exhaust that might have a larger dpf on it that might allow more flow through it. But I`m pretty sure I`m just going to delete it. And hold onto the stock exhaust for inspection time. Which programmers out there will clear the check engine code for that? And won`t void my warranty
July 27, 2016I`m not aware of anyone that makes larger or higher flow emissions equipment for our trucks.
As for deleting, it`s a bit more complicated on the newer 6.7`s than mine since the EPA cracked down on the large companies and you also have to deal with DEF. But most everyone agrees that EFI Live is the best system available. To delete the emissions you will have to have a custom tune.
As for warranty, I believe Dodge will be able to tell if your truck has been deleted or tuned. Some dealerships are cool with this, some are not. But rest assured that if you have a issue that corporate Dodge has to get involved with, they will not be ok with you tuning your Ram. I`d suggest talking with your dealership first if you are worried about your engine warranty.
