Ball joints are part of the inspection process in PA. I used to live there and was a mechanic. But depending on where the truck was inspected, some like to do lick`m and stick`ms. But if that happened with-in a short amount of time from when the inspection was done then the inspection station is at fault. My stepdaughter bought a Jeep before we left PA, I talked to the salesman and told him everything that was wrong with it and would need to be fixed for inspection. He said everything that needs repaired for inspection will be done along with it having a good inspection when she picks it up. Well, she picked it up and nothing had been repaired. I called the state, they went to the inspection station, and we had to bring the jeep down so the state inspector could look at it. That mechanic was ready to crap his pants, luckily we struck a deal for full refund on the jeep and I allowed the charges against the garage and mechanic to be dropped. They had the understanding tho that they were going to be watched closely with other inspections that they did for the used car dealer.
