November 14, 2005ive been running 4.56s and 33's on my 98 for about 2 years or so. Probably the best thing ive ever done to my truck. Gas milage got better on the streets and a little worse on highway.

November 15, 2005Did you have to lift it for the 33's? My 4.56s are going on Thrs and Fri. I'll run the stock 31's unless my rpm's are too high, then I'll try bigger tires.
November 15, 2005I had to put a 3inch body lift on mine. That is the only lift i have found for my dakota (03) They rub a little if you turn all the way, but it aint too bad.
November 16, 2005What part of the tire rubs on what?
November 18, 2005Their in! Now if I can just break them in properly. They feel better. A MPG check and performance feel to come later. PhatDak: I still need an answer to that rubbing issue.
November 19, 2005It would be the front of the fender well bottom of the plastic bumper. It happens when you turn all the way and flex. It doesnt take much flex when your turned all the way. If your a serious off roader it would be acceptable, but I just mud every now and then so it is no big deal.

yea, i put a body lift on just so i can fit the 33s. Depending on which motor you have, the rpms will be different. I, for example, have a 318, for a very short time, 2 weeks, i was running 4.56s and 31s and all im going to say is this, make sure you have fun roasting them 31s ahah. keep in mind that my rpms were very high. I swear, if i remember correctly, i was curping in 4th gear ahha.
January 31, 2006The Heavy CC or Magnum V6 powered Dakotas can make use of the 4.56's alot better....
These will help compensate for the heavier weight and lack of displacement these Trucks have with the V6.
February 1, 2006I have 456 and 33 inch tires on my truck. I love the gears and would not settle for any thing less. you will be very happy with the gears. my gas milleage went up.
February 1, 2006I finally got my 4.56's in a few months ago. I have to say I'm pretty happy with them.
February 9, 2006I AM RUNNING 4.56 GEARS FRONT & REAR (9.25 DIFF IN REAR & 10" UP FRONT) I ALSO RUN A 38" TIRE LISTED AS 37" BUT IS 38.25 " IN REAL LIFE, AFTER NUKING MY FIRST TRANS TRYING TO PULL 35"'S WITH MY STOCK 3.1O ( ?? IT THINK) GEARS I HAVE BEEEN REAL HAPPY MY RPM'S ARE ACCEPTABLE AS THE TIRED BRING MY ACTUAL RATION BACK TO ROUGHLY 4.00 & NO PROBLEMS WITH NOISE OR RELIABILITY, JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO SET UP YOUR GEARS IT ISN'T FOR THE NEWBIE TRUST ME ! BTW YOU CANNOT RUN A LARGER GEAR IN THE FRONT 10" DIFF, THE CARRIER & CASE ARE TOO SMALL FOR ANY LARGER OF A GEAR, I WAS HOPING TO RUN 5.10'S BUT CANNOT TILL I SWITCH TO A DANA 44 UP FRONT
