August 19, 2004Has anyone found a product to put on the dash of the new Rams? I do not want some shiney-slimey Armourall type dressing, I would like to keep it matt looking but still protect the vinyl as well as not have a glare on the windshield-I would appreciate your thoughts

August 19, 2004I just use the Armor All wipes. They work nice and don't really give off a glare like you would get if you actually sprayed the Armor All onto the dash and wiped it off.
August 22, 2004I also use the Armor All wipes...the yellow-top container for plastic and vinyl, and the brown-top container for leather (I have a 1500 Laramie with leather seats). The wipes "put down" just enough product without leaving the surface sticky.
But...I am probably going to stop using the orange-top container "citrus" cleaning wipes. They tend to leave a residue which leaves the "visual" impression that you never cleaned your interior in the first place.
I hope this helps.
August 22, 2004I haven't tried it yet but have heard some good things about a product called 303. I will try to get some this week. www.303products.com
August 22, 2004I also did not want to go the Armorall route, and, from the beginning I did not like the refection of the dash that I'd see in the windshield on any sunny day. So, my solution was to get a dashmat.
It brings some of the color of the trucks exterior into the somewhat bland taupe interior, significantly reduces the dashes reflection in the windshield, and has to protect the dash from cracking because is blocks the sun from hitting the dash.
August 22, 2004I found that the Armor All wipes the one with the yellow lid are the best way to go also keeps dash and all leather or vinyl nice and shinny but with out it being to sticky to the touch.
August 22, 2004I use lemon Pledge on the entire interior, including the dash. Nice matt finish with no glare. I also use a reflective sun shade on the windshield.
August 22, 2004I have used the mequier's rubber and vinyl cleaner. Does not get all greasy.
August 23, 2004I've always used lemon Pledge with no problems. I used to show my motor cycle and use pledge on the paint before a show. No side effects after.
August 24, 2004303 works amazing. I use on my dash, doors and vinyl tonneau cover.
It leaves the stock look, not shiny or sticky at all, you don't even know it's on actually. Protects very well, it pretty expensive though.
August 25, 2004I have used Pledge on many vehicles over the years..inside and out.
I alos use a "tack cloth" to wipe the inside and outside down when it's dusty. The cloth will even pick up lint off the seats. You can find these just about any paint dept. for cheap..just throw them away when dirty....store it in a zip lock type bag........Dt.
August 25, 2004For me, the wipes contain a little too much product than I would use if I were spraying and applying with a rag. I know what you mean about the shine, though. Armor All makes a "matt" finish spray product called Interior Grease-Free Formula. This stuff isn't shiny like the regular Armor All, does a great cleanup job, and looks great afterwards.
