March 21, 2011Always and I mean always loved the megacab and I like to have the ability to haul anything I need to haul and go anywhere I might have too. And they were giving it away.
March 21, 2011the fact that it had sat since october in a field and when I put the battery in it and it started right up and the fact that even with snow on the ground it walked right out of where it was which was rather steep
March 22, 2011It was May 2002 My Astro van was a right off after it was hit by a yappy 17 year old girl driving the new toy Rav mommy and daddy got her. Sorry to say they never told her not to talk on the cell and drive at the same time. I was looking to buy a new truck and there he was sitting in a holding area behind the dealerlot. Red and imposing. My future ride. I went over to lookin and the pasanger window on the drivers side was open. I looked in and there was that new truck smell. It was love at first sight. Less than a week later he was mine. I still get that excited new truck feeling every time I get in to HULK. He is my dream truck.
March 22, 2011My first Dodge was an 1985 Ramcharger two tone silver, it was sitting on a car lot just begging for me to get rid of the Subaru RX Turbo Coupe and buy it. So just minutes after getting the Subaru out of the repair shop for the third time in a year I left town as a Mopar Lady. The year was 1987 and I`ve never looked back.
March 22, 2011The first NEW truck I bought was a 91 D-50 4x4, not one of my better ideas. Cute, would climb like a mountain goat and easy to get around town in but uncomfortable as all get out on long trips.
March 22, 2011I could go on about each & every one I`ve had, but no sense hijacking the thread, so my present truck is the Christmas tree truck. The cab is red, one bed side is green, the other is red primer and the tailgate is grey. The poor thing had been in the Bulletin Board for something like 2 months for $1200, my first thought was what`s wrong with it? Who doesn`t buy a 4x4 in the dead of winter for that kind of money after we looked at it & saw it only had the 225 slant six (super six in this one) it made more sense. No one wanted it cause of the mismatched body panels & the little bitty motor, so I kinda think it picked us instead of us picking it. I`m loving it with gas prices the way they are 28+ mpg on a full sized 4x4. Some day soon it`ll be all one color and then again maybe not it has character.
March 22, 2011My `95 was just the right price for what I was looking for, I wanted a Cummnins but settled for the half ton, looking back I should have waited and saved more money, but you know what they say about hindsight!
My `01 was just because my `91 was getting worn out from towing 5 days a week and I needed something newer, I didn`t want a 24 valve and wanted a `98 12valve but couldn`t get the bank to finance on so I ended up with my `01, not exactly what I wanted but it gets the job done.
My `91, well it`s a 1st gen Cummins with a 5 speed, hell I have wanted one of those since I was 9 years old, dad had two a `92 and a `93. The `92 was the first vehicle I got to drive by myself after I turned 16. I have always loved the Cummins and the 1st gen is by far my favorite body style, and that was all before I know the power of the Cummins and thought 160hp was all you got, and I still wanted one even as gutless as they were!
Needless to say my `91 is still my favorite truck and with 450k miles it`s what I drive to work everyday, and will still light the tires in 3 gears and get loose in the turns to make my commute a little less boring, but I know the day is coming when the ol girl is going to die on me, but hopefully she`ll last until I get a garage built and I can start on a project truck, like a Cummins powered 1st gen crew cab!
March 22, 2011this is my only dodge but i knew i wanted it several years before i actually got it. i went as far as buying accessories for the truck about 2 years before i actually bought it. i went back and forth with the dealer for 4-5 hours (and made them buy me lunch) until we came to an agreement. i traded in my boat (unseen and brought it to them the next day) for the truck. the day after i bought the truck, i started modding it with the accessories i had waiting. a week after getting the truck, it didn`t even look like the same truck. as of the end of last week, i`ve had the truck for 9 years now. i bought it in spokane, washington, it was 2 years old when i bought it and was previously used as a commercial truck in Canada. it was a plain jane white truck with bald tires and a dent behind the rear passenger tire. poor thing, just wanted someone to love it.
March 22, 2011I fell in love with the 98-01 Dodge Ram 2500 Club Cab when I had one as a work truck about 3 yrs ago. I wanted the 24 valve Cummins, but the price was unbeatable!!
March 22, 2011I chose my truck because of the reputation of reliability of the Ram. Also I chose the color because I had not seen this color in my area and still have not after 8 mos of ownership.
March 22, 2011My love of Dodge goes back to 1998, my junior year of high school. My parents bought a loaded 1500 4x4 with the 5.9 V-8 that I got to drive and love. It eventually became mine in 2001. About the same time they bought it my friends dad switched from Chevy to Dodge and had a brand new 2500 long bed 4x4 with the Cummins. When I drove that truck I fell in love with the Diesels. In 2006 I bought an 06 1500 4x4 Hemi and loved the truck but it broke on me while off roading in the dunes at a CA Chapter GTG and also was sluggish at best when hauling my in laws big boat. I decided I wanted something that would last me for the long haul and that was more capable than my 1500, so in November of 2008 I bought my current truck, a 2008 2500 QCSB 4x4 with the Cummins, and I haven`t looked back. It has done whatever I`ve asked it to do and excelled at it. Offroading, towing, and hauling are what this truck lives for. I was amazed at the truck off road even when it was stock and now that I have a 6 inch lift and 35s I can`t wait to do more trails.
The dealer I bought it from had it sitting there almost a year so the 12k off sticker price was nice as well. I can`t see myself not driving a Dodge with a Cummins
